About Outside Landscape Group

Rick is originally from New Jersey, where his passion for landscape development began. Following his passion for creativity, art and working with people, Rick found the perfect outlet with bringing landscapes to fruition from paper to the homeowner’s backyard.  Working in the landscape industry since his early teens, he has more than 35 years of experience in landscape design and construction. Rick earned his associate degree in business in New Jersey and continued with his bachelor’s degree in landscape design and construction from Colorado State University.

His expertise in developing beautiful and successful properties has been refined with his vast experience of working with homeowners on a multitude of projects. Whether creating a small, intimate garden or an elaborate master plan, Rick’s attention to detail and creativity has built Outside Landscape Group into one of the finest residential landscape companies in the Southeast.

Along with the start of  Outside Landscape Group Rick was sought out as an expert in his field to host Home and Garden Television’s “Landscape Solutions”. This nationally-televised program successfully aired for over five years on this well-known cable network, providing Rick the opportunity to share throughout the country his creativity and knowledge in residential landscaping.

As Founder of Outside Landscape Group, Rick’s passion and philosophy is to provide absolute excellence in the field of residential landscape design and installation, where motivated employees provide well-crafted projects and a diverse range of landscape services.

Rick’s role is to steer all operations of the company to solidify and enhance both internal and external growth and development. His commitment to quality and diligent sound business practices’ has developed a respected reputation not only with clientele, but with landscape industry as a whole.

Day to day activities include managing all personal and team project development activities for clientele, overseeing project design development, estimating and proposals, coordinating field production activities with staff, in addition being integrally involved with all administrative activities with his staff and business partner (and wife) Kara.

Kerri is a Georgia native and received her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Georgia in 1993.  She has focused her career in residential design and installation throughout the Atlanta area, and has worked with several of Atlanta’s premier landscape design/build companies. In addition, Kerri owned and operated her own landscape business for 3 years where her concentration was in Landscape Design and Project Management. Her depth of experience has provided her with extensive knowledge and expertise in the residential landscape design/build field.

Kerri joined Outside Landscape Group in 2009, and as Operations Manager she works diligently with all departments including Design, Project Management, Installation, and Administration to make sure that client projects and company operations are efficient and successful. She oversees design development, estimating, scheduling and material orders. Additionally, Kerri manages subcontractors, vendor ordering, and tracks overall efficiencies in the company.

Kerri is actively committed to continuing the highest level of quality service for Outside Landscape Group’s clients. Her diverse experience, industry knowledge and dedication to service and professionalism make her a valuable asset to Outside Landscape Group.

Adam is originally from Maryland, where he began his training to become a Landscape Architect. With a passion for the outdoors, extensive knowledge of plants, and a strong design background, Landscape Architecture was a fitting career. Adam moved to Georgia to complete his education at the University of Georgia in 1996.

Prior to joining Outside Landscape Group in 2011, Adam has been fortunate to work with two of Atlanta’s premier design firms, where he has worked on numerous diverse residential properties, resort communities and commercial properties both locally and along the East coast. He has been involved in the community serving on Architectural Control Committees where he has worked closely with Homeowners, Builders, and Contractors, reviewing plans to ensure quality and creativity while maintaining design standards.

Adam has been recognized in the industry with many award winning projects and brings true creative talent, knowledge and hands-on landscape expertise to Outside Landscape Group. Adam excels in his role as Project Architect and Manager with intensity and interest in creating outdoor environments that exceed Client expectations, while providing an enjoyable experience along the way. His passion for the industry and enthusiasm is highly valued by his Clients and the team at Outside Landscape Group.

David is a North Carolina native who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture from North Carolina A&T State University. His passion for landscape architecture began early, after spending two summers working for a lawn maintenance company—an experience that ultimately shaped his career path.

Following graduation, David began his career in a traditional landscape architecture firm before transitioning into the design/build sector, where he has remained ever since. Over the years, this hands-on environment has refined his abilities as both a designer and project manager, allowing him to guide clients from initial vision through final execution. He is known for transforming outdoor spaces into meaningful environments that enhance how people live and experience their homes.

With nearly 30 years in the landscape industry, David’s career has spanned projects throughout North Carolina, Southeast Virginia, and most recently Kansas City. He has collaborated on projects with both regionally and nationally recognized landscape architects, and his work has been featured on HGTV, the Golf Channel, and CBS Sports.
David is also deeply committed to mentorship and service. He has served on advisory boards for several colleges and universities and spent time as an adjunct professor. His passion for giving back extends beyond his professional life into his personal one, where he is actively involved in his church community and leadership.

In the summer of 2025, David relocated from Kansas City to join the OLG team, alongside his wife Debbie and their youngest daughter, Emma.  Above all, David values his role as a husband, father, and grandfather—roles that continue to inspire both his life and his work.

Mary is from Colorado where her love for nature and the outdoors began. She received her bachelor’s degree in Landscape Design from Colorado State University. Prior to coming to Outside Landscape Group, Mary worked for several premier design/build firms both in Colorado and Atlanta. Her main focus has been residential design. After living in the Atlanta suburbs for many years she now calls Atlanta home.

Mary joined Outside Landscape Group in 2015 as a Project Designer/Coordinator and assists in all levels of the project process to create a complete landscape presentation package. She loves seeing your landscape goals integrated with thoughtful and creative designs to create a beautiful outdoor living space. Mary enjoys working with the Outside Landscape Group team who are some of the most talented, creative, and dedicated people she knows.
